About the Class:
Mindfulness meditation is evidenced-based and utilized at prestigious medical centers like the Mayo Clinic. It is supported by a growing body of evidence suggesting benefits for mental health, increased well-being, stress reduction, and pain reduction. Research has shown it to be an excellent complement to other medical treatments or therapies.
This hour-long class will offer a guided meditation that helps people ease chronic pain and stress symptoms by scanning the body to release tension. This can be particularly helpful for individuals with anxiety, chronic pain, or stress, as it allows them to manage negative or worrisome thoughts about pain, reduce depression and anxiety symptoms, and improve overall well-being.
The class will begin with gentle movements to bring awareness to the body and breath. Then, you’ll lie on your back while guided through a relaxing body scan and deeply healing meditation practice in a peaceful, soothing environment.
The class is led by Jaime Pellegrene, who has over 22 years of experience in health and fitness. She is a certified C.H.E.K. Holistic Nutrition and Lifestyle Coach, certified in Yoga Calm, certified Ayurvedic practitioner, and mindfulness teacher.
This class is for adults and teens.
Please bring a blanket and a pillow (optional to bring something to cover your eyes). Wear something warm and comfortable. We’ll supply a yoga mat and blanket for you to lie on.
