NURSE PRACTITIONER CARE · EDEN PRAIRIE, MN

Getting to the root of what is causing your pain.

Sometimes pain is more complicated than it looks. Your nurse practitioner evaluates what is really going on, identifies contributing factors, and ensures your physical therapy treatment is always grounded in a solid clinical foundation.

THE MEDICAL ANCHOR OF YOUR CARE TEAM

Why having an NP on your team changes everything.

Many PT clinics do not have a medical provider on staff. That means your physical therapy treatment begins without a complete clinical evaluation.

At Wellspring, your nurse practitioner is the medical anchor of your care team. They conduct thorough evaluations, order diagnostic testing when needed, and ensure that nothing clinically relevant is being missed.

Having an NP on your team means your physical therapy treatment is grounded in a solid medical picture from the start.

It also means that if something is not responding the way it should, there is a medical provider who can adjust the plan immediately.

WHAT TO EXPECT

What nurse practitioner care looks like at Wellspring.

Your nurse practitioner provides thorough clinical examinations, including X-rays when needed. They evaluate for structural issues, nerve involvement, and any medical factors that may be contributing to your pain.

PART OF YOUR CARE TEAM

Coordinated, not isolated.

Your nurse practitioner does not work in isolation. They review your case with your physical therapist and massage therapist. When your NP identifies a structural issue or nerve involvement, your PT knows about it before your next session. When your PT sees something unexpected during treatment, your NP can evaluate it the same day.

Questions about nurse practitioner care.

Yes. Your nurse practitioner can order X-rays and other diagnostic testing when it would be helpful to clarify your diagnosis or guide your treatment plan.

Trigger point injections are targeted injections into tight, painful muscle knots that are contributing to your pain. Your NP may recommend them when appropriate as part of your broader care plan. They are not a standalone service.

Not necessarily at every visit, but your NP stays involved throughout your care with regular progress check-ins. They communicate with your PT and massage therapist between visits to ensure your plan stays on track.
